Latest stuff I've been working on


Hello everyone!

I recently went through a void of motivation as well as personnal events that needed to be cared of. I'm not completely out of it yet, but I managed to find some hours to work on the upcoming project.

Like some of you have noticed, I went through many different new looks for Aria during this year. This process was very instructive for me. It allowed me to figure what I wanted vs what I needed. I would love to make a game with huge sprites someday, but this requires too much time for a one man team having to deal with all the gamedev issues some of you may know. 

I came to decide that my priority was to make great animations. My skills in drawing have increased lately, but I still feel like I lack of pixel art technique overall. That's why I'm deciding to keep those cartoonish black outline and mostly bright colors, because it's something I can work with and the result is somehow satisfying.

So, enough words, let's make some room for visuals. Keep in mind it's all WIP and nothing is fully polished yet.

Woah, that is a cool character design. Phenomenal style. As a game programmer, I can relate to having to balance ambition and workload. Detail exponentially increases how much work is needed to add new things, and I compliment your choice towards focusing on animation over larger sprites. You have a real knack for effective animation, and I can't wait to see what is next :)
